3M™ Safety and Security Films

3M™ Safety and Security Window Films are a tough new dimension in window film technology which combines multiple, microthin layers to create tough, durable, tear and penetration resistant properties which bonds to the inside of your windows/doors to dramatically reduce glass shards from falling or flying out. 3M Safety and Security Films are available in clear, tinted and privacy versions.

Results of bomb blast testing indicates that 3M Ultra Safety and Security Window Films can help significantly reduce injuries caused by flying glass in explosions. 3M Ultra Safety and Security Window Film systems were subjected to blasts equivalent to 500 pounds of TNT. They even meet the GSA ("very high" or "high") protection criteria and are qualified for GSA Level C or D Buildings.

A true testimonial would include that of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta which installed 3M SCLARL400 Film. As quoted,

Ultra Thin Technology

The strength of a film is not only dependent on its thickness. By using layer after layer of micro-thin polyester films, our film outperforms all other films of similar thickness. This superior performance is due to the remarkable flexibility of our film. So while other films tear, ours merely stretches and depending upon the application system, can help keep the window in the frame even when the glass breaks. 3M films meet the BS6206 Class A impact resistance test, pass the ANSIZ97.1 400 foot-pound impact level and meet the Explosive Blast Tests per GSA Security Criteria.
